I love my parents very much, though I would say I am closest to my mother. They are both very interesting people to be around and I suppose are average when it comes to discipline. We get along fine, I suppose. We seem to share a good amount of similar interests. Their musical tastes are in the same range as mine [How many other parents can say they listen to Rob Zombie as a family? ;D], they aren't the "shelter-your-children-from-the-real-world" type [I've been watching R-rated films, for example, since I was four], and overall are quite trusting. My mother is a very determined person. She has been through a great deal in her life and I know that I could talk to her about anything and would receive understanding in return. I would say that we are alike in many ways and I find her very easy to talk to. Her temper I suppose is middle-of-the-road; average for a mother of her caliber. Her patience has its limits of course and she is quick to be annoyed but all is well. My father can be very nice at times but has quite the short temper, I'm afraid. Eh, it didn't always used to be this way, but it seems as if he can become annoyed at almost anything. I suppose it may root back to the fact that his sleeping patterns are less than ideal [due to his sleep apnea] which seems to inflict upon his patience. When his temper is lost, I suppose you can count on a pile of extra chores to complete by the end of the day as well as a few verbal hits. Nonetheless, he can be a nice guy. When he has the time, he tries to take me and my sister places and spend as much time as he can with us. For the record: A few years back, he was diagnosed "too nice" by a psychiatrist . Heh, I love them .

Wow. Your parents seem great. My parents, wouldn't listen to Rob Zombie 'as a family' since my mom only likes Country music . My dad on the other hand likes my music (some of it) But doesn't always like listening to it 'with me'......I can only watch R-rated movies in the Horror section and my parents have to watch it first to see if I can watch... Believe it or not, they didn't know that I knew what a was until we watched this movie!!

My family puts the fun in dysfunctional... heh which actually isn't all that fun. To say the least me and Aaron lewis of staind have quite a bit in common when it comes to family life. Like when I first heard dysfunctional I cried because of just about every song. My mother is a religious sunday school teacher, and my father is an athiest and is an avid drug user. The two are seperated and have been for a long time, my step father favors his own son over me, and admits it. He used to hit me and my mom, at least till I was big enough to defend myself. My mom tried to teach me "right" and force me into religion and how she thought I should be, making me rebel even more from what she wanted me to be. She tried to shelter me all of my life, but that also didn't work. She is always furious when I don't do things her way, but I still do things my way cause it's my life. Not hers.... Umm my step dad doesn't care about what I do as long as his son gets everything he wants and how he wants it. My "real" dad is too high all the time to care... I say "real" dad because i'm adopted and my biological mother is off somewhere using some guy for drugs and a place to live, and I dunno what my biological father is doing cause no one knows who he is lol. So yeah thats my parents..... if you can call them that lol
